Saturn moves into fiery, action-oriented, maverick Aries on February 13, 2026 where it will stay until 2028. We got a preview of Saturn in Aries last summer from May 24 until September 1st, 2025. What prominent themes, feelings, emotions, or events were present for you during that time? Saturn in Aries begins a new cycle in the Aries part of your chart. If you know your birth chart, you can look to the Aries house to identify the kinds of topics where you’ll be experiencing new beginnings in your life over the next few years. (Don’t know your birth chart? Then, I recommend booking an astrology reading and I would love to go over yours with you.)

Saturn is in its fall in Aries, and when a planet is in its “fall” or “detriment,” it indicates serious challenges and obstacles. We know more challenges are ahead, AND at the same time, Saturn in Aries could mean the FALL of oppressive leaders. Aries is leaders and leadership. The Sun is exalted in Aries, and the Sun also represents leaders, as well as celebrities, and kings/queens.

Our relationship to leaders and leadership is in the spotlight. This also applies to companies and the “heads” of corporations as Aries rules the head. Which companies are supporting fascism and socio-economic inequities and systemic oppression, and which aren’t? We will continue to divest from certain leaders and people in positions of power who are not meeting our needs or acting ethically. Mars, the ruler of Saturn in Aries, is all about cutting and separating.

Saturn in Aries can make us more discerning (a keyword for Saturn) about which leaders we support, but also inspire us to COMPLETELY re-imagine and re-do what leadership, business, and power mean.Get your punk rock playlist 🎸 ready because this is the fuel we’ll need to drive us forward into creating revolutionary changes for the people, by the people.

Saturn in Aries will pose great challenges, AND it is a great transit for resisting (another Saturn keyword) oppression and creating new paths that better serve humanity. Aries is all about creating something that hasn’t been done before, and we can use this creative energy to create the kind of world we want to live in and need to live in.

Saturn in Aries energy reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Foxfire, from 1996, during the period when Saturn was last in Aries. It’s one of Angelina Jolie’s (who has an Aries stellium) earliest films, and it’s written and directed by women filmed in Portland, Oregon. Foxfire revolves around nonbinary and women high schoolers who band together to fight sexual harassment and assault, and resist the oppressive authority and abuse in their life. It’s about the friendship and joy they find together in discovering their agency and power. It’s also about loneliness and struggle. It’s Saturn in Aries. Mars often represents sexual harassment, inappropriateness, and abuse. Saturn represents oppression struggle, and authority. Mars is a fighter and resists authority. Mars is agency and power. Saturn in Aries resists and fights oppressive authority and actions reclaiming its agency and exercising its power.

Foxfire from Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, is “a luminous fungus that causes decaying wood to glow.” Saturn represents decay and fungus. Aries, a fire sign where the Sun is exalted, represents luminosity and glow. Foxfire reminds us that the decay or falling away process can result in a glow, in light emerging from darkness. These women and gender expansive folks in Foxfire illuminated the shadows of authority and their experience, and glowed in the face of darkness.

Saturn cools the fire Mars has been burning. Mars says burn it down, NOW. Saturn says, no, we must be cautious, not yet. Be patient. Gas, breaks, gas, breaks.

Saturn is interested in laying, new, solid foundations. In your personal life, this can be a much needed change. Saturn in Aries will be laying new groundwork in the Aries whole sign house in your chart and whatever house that represents in your life. It’s tough to lay new groundwork. Saturn doesn’t make it easy, but with Saturn, things tend to get better over time, so if you put in the work to lay new foundations that are solid, then you will reap the fruits of your labor over time. Saturn burns away anything that doesn’t rest on solid ground.

When Saturn changes signs, significant endings in your life can occur, like a business, romantic relationship or business partnership, a contract, career, a hobby you were once passionate about, or your home life situation for example. Whatever is holding on by a thread or resting on shaky ground is likely to dissolve when Saturn moves into Aries, especially if it’s related to the Aries part of your chart, or even the Pisces part (since that’s the sign Saturn is departing).

Saturn dissolving what’s not sustainable is, especially, true right now because Saturn is in a close relationship with Neptune. Saturn-Neptune conjunctions dissolve structures and boundaries that are not necessary or aren’t able to last a long time. Saturn is endurance, sustainability, old things, and standing the test of time. Saturn is here to play the long game. It’s the marathon runner, whereas Mars is the sprinter. Saturn in Mars’ sign, Aries, indicates frustration around wanting things to happen NOW, which is the Mars/Aries desire, and being patient with creating something new that will have longevity. Things that have longevity take time to build.

Because Aries is the sign of beginnings, and it’s a cardinal sign, which likes to start new things, you will feel like starting something new in your life. You might feel excited about this new venture. And, Saturn says, that’s cool, but you’re running a marathon, not a sprint, so you need to make sure this creation has a sustainable foundation to grow, or it is likely to dissolve.

Having said that, not every creation or experience is meant to stand the test of time. Many creations and experiences are meant to last for shorter periods of time. For example, perhaps you were in a three-year relationship that’s dissolving, and while the heartbreak is real, it doesn’t have to be a “failure” simply because it didn’t last the rest of your life. Perhaps this was the “right” amount of time for that relationship, and, now this new period in your life is exactly where your soul wants to be.

Saturn and Mars deal with the necessities in life, focusing on what is necessary or essential. Minimal. Bare bones. Bringing it back to the basics. Less is more. You might find that you don’t need as much as you thought you did. You might feel inspired to buy and consume less in general, and focus more up upcycling, visiting garage sales, flea markets, or thrift stores. You could find yourself purging clothes and objects you no longer need or that no longer serve a purpose.

This can also happen on a mental and spiritual level, purging a way of thinking that isn’t helpful. Purging technology in order to come back to the basics of life. Baking your own bread (2020 sourdough starter vibes), making your own soap, pairing down your skincare, choosing one social media platform to be on, striping down… Surviving with less, but also resisting with less.

Resisting overconsumption and unhelpful technology. Relying less on tech and more on our grandparents’ methods during the Great Depression. I’m not saying we will enter another depression, although we do have similar astrology to that time, but that Saturn in Aries motivates us to pair down, and come back to the necessities in life. Resistance to our world becoming more capitalistic. Resistance to fascism, monarchy, and oligarchy.

While Aries has a fierce independence and Saturn is comfortable being alone, Saturn in Aries is a reminder that we’re better together, and we need each other. Jupiter in Cancer helps us nourish each other. The Cosmos are inviting us to come together, help each other, support each other, and share our resources. This is how we will fight becoming peasants to a wannabe king.

While Saturn in Aries is about less is more, Jupiter in Cancer is about more is more. Jupiter in Cancer is extra abundance, generosity, expansion, growth, and the giving of life. Jupiter in Cancer eases the harshness of Saturn in Aries still offering us opportunities for growth, nurturing, and abundance. Saturn in Aries is NOT in isolation, but is occurring with other planetary transits.

Want to know what these upcoming changes are sparking in your own life, what new foundations and creations the planets are indicating for you, personally?
