NEPTUNE IN ARIES: CREATIVE, REVOLUTIONARY ACTION

Neptune enters Aries on March 30th, 2025. The last time Neptune was in Aries was during the U.S. Civil War from 1861 to 1875. In fact, Neptune moved into Aries A DAY after the Civil War broke out. Will another Civil War break out this time when Neptune moves into Aries here in 2025? While I do NOT want war, I think it’s quite possible that some kind of war will happen. It may not be another civil war though if it were, it would not be surprising given how our political and cultural landscape has been over the years. But, whatever the next war is, it’s also a fight for democracy.

We are in a “polycrisis,” as DEI consultant-facilitator, Desiree Adaway, talks about, with multiple crisis intersecting, and the astrology reveals this as multiple planetary cycles (Neptune in Aries, Uranus in Gemini, Pluto in Aquarius, Saturn-Neptune conjunction, etc.) are occurring, or will occur this year bringing us back to these KEY periods in history of fighting for democracy and civil rights.

Things are only getting more and more extreme. Neptune represents delusion, and it reveals extreme versions of the sign that it’s in. Neptune has been in the sign of Pisces, ruled by Jupiter, since 2012. Jupiter represents our beliefs and philosophy of life. Neptune here has represented extreme ideologies about the world however delusional they may be.

Neptune was named after the Roman god of the sea and is associated with water, dreams, intuition, spirituality, imagination, creativity, fantasy, the subconscious, illusion, confusion, what's real, what's not real, what is ideal, moving beyond, and transcending time and space.

Neptune in Aries changes the game, going from dreamy, watery, sensitive Pisces ruled by big picture, Jupiter, to fiery, spontaneous, energizing Aries ruled by Mars, the maverick. Mars is conflict, war, violence, action, energy, sex, the warrior, passion, heat, fire, inflammation, toughness, strength, speed, cutting, separating, tension, irritation, fighting, the survivor, protestor, marcher.

Keywords that Neptune in Mars’ sign, Aries, could encompass:

a dreamy warrior. a delusional war. intuition is a strength. transcending sex. creative, rebellious action. moving beyond war. surviving through creative imaginations. water and fire. boundless and tough. punk rock art. a western vibe with sci-fi themes (Westworld anyone? 😂). blurring the lines of what’s real and what’s not real. toxic masculinity surfacing more, but also dissolving masculinity. dissolving gender and gender roles. transcending sex. embracing our agency and power. authoritarian leaders’ illusion of their agency and power. leaders crumbling. leaders’ hypocrisy being exposed more and more. leaders rebelling and resisting authoritarianism. having grand ideals about your ambitions. feeling driven by your creative imagination. motivated to make changes that serve humanity. spiritual warrior. be your own leader mentality. a rise in athleticism. breaking free from religion. separation from the church. and, hopefully, the separation between the church and state.

Neptune, throughout history, has been associated with culture shifts, war, religion, and the rise of spiritualism. Neptune is great for art and creativity, but it can be challenging for stable governments and institutions.

Neptune in Aries can indicate war and violence based on misinformation and fantasy, and a mistrust of government. There are similarities, astrologically and politically, to the late 1960s and 1970s, when there was the U.S. war in Vietnam, the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr, Bobby Kennedy (and Malcolm X and JFK in the early-mid 60s), economic hardship, and the Watergate scandal. After these events, more Americans developed a mistrust in the government and authority (although Black Americans already knew that they couldn’t trust the government and the police). Neptune was in Scorpio, Mars’ other sign in the late 60s, then it was in Sag, another fire sign (like Aries), throughout the 70s. We have other similar astrology to the late 1960s as I mentioned in this post reminding us of the civil rights, feminist, and queer movements of that time.

Neptune moving into Aries forces us to reckon with the racist, misogynistic muck of our history. While the last time Neptune was in Aries was during the U.S. Civil War, it was also when the 13th Amendment passed to abolish slavery in 1865 (even though slavery morphed into other forms like the prison industrial complex). There is currently a war on Black, trans, queer, and disabled people, as well as immigrants, women, and people of color in general. There is a widespread attack on anyone who is not a cisgender, heterosexual, White man. We have made a lot of progress over the decades (even though we have so much more progress to attain), in society, which is why we are experiencing a tremendous amount of backlash.

But, whenever there is backlash, social justice movements rise, and we will rise.
