2026 ASTROLOGY: NEW ERAS & A RARE COSMIC ALIGNMENT
2026 will be another interesting and dynamic year that 2025 started to lay the new foundations for…
We have a once-in-a-lifetime, not-every-century kind of unique cosmic alignment. On July 22, 2026, Jupiter in Leo, Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries, and Pluto in Aquarius will all make an aspect to each other at 4 degrees.
What does this mean? This is alignment is full of sextiles and trines, which are the most positive, harmonious aspects in astrology. Does this mean that 2026 will be a more positive, harmonious year? Well….the astrology and life is much more nuanced than that, but I do think that this unique alignment has some significant beneficial changes that it’s symbolizing.
Interestingly, French astrologer, Andre Barbault, predicted the 2020 pandemic (before he got to see his prediction come true as he died in 2019). In his book, Planetary Cycles: Mundane Astrology, Barbault also predicted that the astrology of 2026 points to a '“new civilization” based on this harmonious alignment happening in July. What does this “new civilization” mean?
Perhaps it’s pointing to AI, which we’re already aware of advancing over the next year. Some think we could enter a Westworld kind of scenario, which, indeed, would create a whole new civilization. Or, maybe on a collective level, we could actually move more towards creating a more Jupiter in Cancer kind of world. It seems like a tall order given all of the shit that’s been going down over the years, but we have the opportunities to try. To try to create the world we want to live in, and it starts in our smaller communities with you and I.
2026 begins with a jump start with the Saturn-Neptune Conjunction (which doesn’t happen very often) at zero degrees of Aries in February. 0 degrees is the first degree in astrology, and Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. This is a MAJOR sign of a completely new era that we are entering into collectively.
Aries is a sign of leaders and leadership. We can expect to see new leadership in all different spheres of society. Many people in positions of power, or at the heads of companies or states losing their power, retiring, or resigning. People who have been at the top for a while coming down from their reign, and new leaders emerging. This will happen in a variety of different areas of society, not just politics.
A whole new era is beginning. New leadership and foundations are being set. Saturn is boundaries and foundations. Neptune dissolves. Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries dissolves older structures, boundaries, and foundations in order to set new ones. The stability and security we thought we had is crumbling. The earth is shaking.
The next few years of the new Saturn-Neptune cycle will feel unstable as we begin to create new systems, structures, and boundaries. The new foundations won’t all be built while Saturn is in Aries though. When Saturn moves into Taurus in a few years, this is likely when more secure structures can be implemented as Taurus is an earth sign that likes stability and security.
Aries is a fire sign where Saturn is in its fall. This is inviting us to get creative (which is what planets in their fall do) about what we want our societies to look like, what we want our new foundations to be. While it never feels pleasant to be living in unstable times, we have real opportunities to write the future.
Saturn in its fall in Aries also goes about things in a different way that’s often against the grain. Whatever the “normal” ways of doing things were are no longer relevant or available. The planets are inspiring us to think differently of another world possible.
We may not know how to do it exactly, but we have to try. It’s time to truly look beyond white hetero patriarchal capitalism, and create our own communities that put care, thoughtfulness, nourishment, and equity at the center, which Jupiter in Cancer offers us.
Jupiter in Cancer invites us to dream of a more matriarchal and supportive life together, to envision societies that center on everyone getting the nurturing and resources that they need, AND being able to flourish. And, of course, we’re not just dreaming it, but doing it.
Saturn plays the long game building sustainable supportive systems with solid foundations. We have to get creative and build new systems that are more supportive. Power of the People will prevail. I do believe that the harmonious aspects of the unique alignment happening in July is supportive of the power of the People. But, we have to keep exercising our power and not get complacent. Jupiter exalted in Cancer urges us to not give up hope, to not give up on our dreams. Jupiter in Cancer says, you have opportunity, make it happen. You have the power to support each other.
When Jupiter moves into Leo in very late June, it opposes Pluto in Aquarius reminding us of our power as a People, as a collective. We, The People, get to decide how we want our world to be. We will need to keep fighting for what is right, and start new systems that truly support people, systems that center care, nourishment, our well being, healthy environments, social and economic equity, diversity, and inclusion.
We didn’t have real equity or inclusion in the old era. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t have it in the new era. It’s a new era. We can paint the picture how we want. What picture do you want to paint?
In 2026, we also have Uranus moving into Gemini for seven years. Gemini Risings, Suns and Moons, in particular, will be inspired to make some radical changes in their life. The lunar nodes will move into Aquarius and Leo in the middle of the year, and we will begin to have eclipses in these signs starting in February. Endings and new beginnings for Aquarians and Leos are coming too!
But, with all of this new cosmic activity, everyone will be entering a new era.
You will find yourself feeling different, and doing things differently in your own life. Various cycles are ending. New ones are beginning. What have you noticed shifting this past year? What’s been stirring inside of you?
