NORTH NODE IN ARIES, SOUTH NODE IN LIBRA

On July 17th, 2024, the nodes switched signs. The north node moved into Aries and the south node moved in Libra. The nodes are these points (not planets) in the sky that cross the path of the ecliptic between the Sun and the Moon that define the eclipses.

The nodes and eclipses initiate endings and new beginnings. These endings and new beginnings are now happening in the areas of your life represented by Aries and Libra, wherever you have those signs in your birth chart. When we have eclipses in Aries and Libra, these parts of your chart and life will be activated.

Some of the new endings and beginnings that the nodes and eclipses can stir may have to do with a new job, relationship, living situation, sense of self and identity, new interests or hobbies, new habits, adopting new beliefs. You can be letting go of those things as well.

WHAT Aries/Libra REPRESENT

Aries is ruled by Mars. Libra is ruled by Venus. So, we have the north node being ruled by Mars and the south node being ruled by Libra. Aries and Libra represent self and other. Being an individual (Mars) verses being connected and in harmony with each other (Venus). Mars/Aries loves its freedom and independence. Venus/Libra wants to connect and be social.

What do we need in our relationships? What do we need in relationship with self? The north node in Aries points us to discovering a new relationship with ourselves. The south node in Libra asks us to let go of relationships or relationship dynamics (whether in romantic, friendship or otherwise) that no longer serve us. You might discover something new about yourself and how you identify, and how that relates to other people in your life.

The nodes in Aries/Libra help us discover new ways of relating and doing relationships. The north node in Aries/Mars can lead us to being too individualistic and self-absorbed. We need to remember that we need each other; we need connection. We can embrace our individual freedom and autonomy and stay connected and in relationship with one another.

There will be a theme of liberation and wanting to break free because, Mars/Aries. You might notice wanting to be liberated from relationship constraints or rigidity. You might break free from a community you’ve been apart of in order to spend more time alone and discover who you are when you’re not with other people.

We also look at the exaltation rulers of Aries and Libra. With Aries, the Sun is exalted there. With Libra, Saturn is exalted there. Saturn can represent high ranks and high standards, and the Sun can represent royalty, recognition and the spotlight. The Sun-Saturn combo wants a better life, better systems, recognition, and letting go of hardship so it can shine.

It wants to let go of structures and relationships that prevent you from shining and being seen for all of who you are. With Mars representing courage and the Sun representing the heart, we do have a theme of bravery, a brave heart. Take courage to move in a new direction that is more liberatory and embraces all of you.

Some relationships will need to end in order for you to thrive. Some relationships become toxic and we need to let them go. Sometimes, we sacrifice who we are in order to stay in relationship with other people. The south node in Libra wants to let this go. The north node in Aries is hungering to feel confident, independent, take risks and initiate new beginnings.

It’s time to take a risk, a risk that you feel strongly in your gut. If we want to make important changes in our life, we have to take risks. Some risks work out. Some don't work out. But, you never know what will work out unless you take a risk. Of course, I'm not advocating for taking a risk just for the sake of it. Only take one that your intuition is nudging you to take.

If you have planets or your Rising Sign in Aries and/or Libra, then this will be extra potent for you. But, even if you have planets or your Rising Sign in Capricorn/Cancer, then this will be impactful for you too because these are cardinal signs like Aries/Libra, and they are part of the “cardinal cross” that the eclipses will touch. If your MC is in one of these cardinal signs, then the Aries/Libra eclipses will be turning points for your career, in particular.
